DAV College Bathinda Organises Annual Athletic Meet -2024

DAV College Bathinda organized the most awaited spectacular Annual Athletic Meet- 2024 with great fervour on February 27, 2024.The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was the Olympian Shooter Ms. Arjuna Awardee Avneet Kaur Sidhu (AIG CID). Other distinguished guests present on the occasion were Dr. K.K. Nohria (Senior Member, Local Advisory Committee), Madam Vimal Garg (Member, Local Advisory Committee), Sh. Surinder Mohan Garg (President, MHR School) and Dr. Anuradha Bhatia (Principal DAV Public School, Bathinda). Also present on the occasion were the retired staff members of DAV College Bathinda, namely, Prof. N.K. Gosain, Prof. Yograj, Prof. A.K. Gupta, Prof. Satish Vohra, Prof. B. Kapila, Dr. Sumita Bagla, Prof. Varesh Gupta and Prof. Madan Lal. The esteemed guests were accorded a warm welcome by the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover and Head, Physical Education Department Prof. Kuldeep Singh. The programme commenced with the sacred chanting of gayatri mantra and DAV anthem. This was followed by a well coordinated march past, lighting of the torch by the students achievers in sports and swearing in of the oath by Harman Kaur (BA III) National Hockey Player and Gold Medalist. The Chief Guest Olympian Avneet Kaur Sidhu and the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma hoisted the DAV flag and released vibrant balloons in the clear blue skies and declared the Annual Athletic Meet open. Expounding upon the sports achievements of the year, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Physical Education read out the annual sports report and the names of the students winning national and international laurels for the institution in the field of kabaddi, wrestling, cricket, hockey and many other games. He also acknowledged the significant contribution of the coach Prof. Madan Lal (Former HoD, Physical Education) in the field of sports. Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma thanked the distinguished Chief Guest, honouable Guest of Honour, other distinguished guests and DAV retired staff members for sparing time for their busy schedule and gracing the occasion with their benign presence. He stated that sports discipline both the mind and the body and great achievements come our way when we maintain our physical and mental well-being and devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the task in hand. He greatly appreciated the efforts of the HoD Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh and Prof. Rajpal Kaur, entire staff and students of the college for organizing this spectacular event.The Chief Guest, Ms. Avneet Kaur Sidhu felt elated at being a part of the Athletic Meet, organized in a reputed institution of Bathinda. She reminisced her college days when she participated as an athlete in the events organized. “Everyone cannot be a winner, but it is the experience of participating in sports events which teaches students the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship”, these words of the esteemed guest left a lasting impact on the students. She exhorted the students to work incessantly towards the progress of the state and the country. The Valedictory Ceremony also witnessed the gracious presence of the Guests of Honour, namely, Sh. Suresh Kumar Goyal (Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bathinda), Sh. Neel Garg (Chairman, Medium Scale Industrial Board, Punjab) and Dr. Surjit Singh (Retd. Principal Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda). Other distinguished guests present on the occasion were Sh. Rakesh Narula (DAV Alumnus & Social Activist), Sh. Naresh Goyal, Prof. Kulwinder, Principal Rajinder Singh, Sh. H. Sekhon, Prof. Kamaljeet Gabbi, S. Rajwant Singh, Sh. Rajeev Mohanty, Sh. Daljit Guru and Dr. Jaideep Singh Kaler. The students and the faculty exhibited their mettle and true sportsmanship in various events for boys and girls like 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 5000m, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, relay race 4×100 and 4×400, etc. Various fun games like Sack Race, Tug of War, Spoon Lemon Race, Three Legged Race, etc, witnessed both the students and faculty taking part wholeheartedly. The participation of students in these various events witnessed the attributes of athleticism and teamwork, bringing forth the prowess and dedication of the students. Ashu (BA-I) was declared as the Best Athlete Male and Sukhjeet Kaur (BA-II) was adjudged as the Best Athlete Female.The certificates, medals and nutritious prizes brought a surge of excitement amongst the winners. The distinguished guests were also felicitated with mementos. The formal Vote of Thanks was extended by the Staff Secretary Prof. Kuldeep Singh. He congratulated the winners and thanked each one present, the guests, retired faculty, media, teaching, non-teaching staff, and students for their active cooperation and tireless efforts to make the event a success.The stage was conducted meticulously by Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Paramjeet Kaur, Dr. Neetu Purohit, Prof. Prabhjot Kaur and Prof. Nirmal Singh.

Inauguration of Open Gymnasium at DAV College Bathinda.

S. Jagroop Singh Gill, Member Legislative Assembly Bathinda inaugurated Open Gymnasium with Eight stations at DAV College, Bathinda. The outdoor open gym equipment offers a range of exercises such as pull- ups, push-ups and leg press that work different muscle groups and help in building strength and endurance.The inaugural ceremony was performed in the presence of Sh. Dharampal Garg, Deputy Registrar, Punjabi University Patiala, Madam Vimal Garg, Member, Local Advisory Committee, Sh. Sukhdeep Dhillon Councillor Municipal Corporation Bathinda, Mr. Sanjay Mittal Regional Manager ICICI B the Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Head Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and Prof. Nirmal Singh.Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma declared the Outdoor Gymnasium open for the students and citizens of Bathinda and added, “Hosting open gym at college will allow for a safe space for students to be physically active and stress free which is a pre-requisite for their cognitive development. Prof. Kuldeep Singh of DAV College Bathinda proved his excel in National Masters Athletic Championship 2024 organised at Hyderabad.

Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Physical Education brought laurels for the college by earning Silver Medal in 110 metre Hurdle Race in National Masters Athletic Championship 2024 while representing Punjab. The mega event involved the participation of more than 1500 athletes all over India. Before that Prof. Kuldeep Singh received two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at State Level Championship. The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar felicitated Prof. Kuldeep Singh on his Home Coming. He applauded his tireless efforts of setting an example for all the students and wished him luck for the upcoming International Championship. The Cricket Boys of DAV College Bathinda set foot in Punjabi University Patiala Cricket Team.

DAV College Bathinda feels immense pleasure and honor over the selection of four of its players being placed in the Cricket team of Punjabi University Patiala for North Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament. Sehaj Dhawan, Jashanpreet Sidhu, Manish Sheron and Delove fetched the glory for the Sports Department of the College.The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma acknowledged and glorified the achievements of all the four cricket boys and encouraged them to perform at their best. He applauded the efforts of Sh. Rajeev Mohanty, Cricket Coach for polishing the talent of the budding cricket and congratulated Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head, Physical Education and Prof. Nirmal Singh for their tireless efforts in fetching laurels for the College.

DAV College Bathinda Students Won Third Position in All India Inter University Hockey Championship.

DAV College Bathinda feels elated and honoured on the students Mitali, Rozy Bharti and Harpreet Kaur for earning third position in All India Inter University Hockey Championship. The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the students and expressed this to be a proud moment for the college. He expressed gratitude to Sardar Rajwant Singh, Sports Department Coach for training and steering the course of the students. He also congratulated the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and Prof. Nirmal Singh for their dedicated efforts.

Prof. Kuldeep Singh of DAV College Bathinda bagged Two Golds and a Silver in the 44 Punjab Masters Athletic Championship.

A moment of immense pleasure was witnessed at DAV College Bathinda after Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education nailed three medals in the 44 Punjab Masters Athletic Championship held at Mastuana Sahib. Around 350 players from all over the Punjab participated in different categories.The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated Prof. Kuldeep as he got First Gold medal in 110 Meters Hurdle race, Second Gold medal in 200 Meters race and Silver medal in Long Jump event. He also wished luck and more glories in this turned year as he is further preparing for National games which will be held at Hyderabad from 8-11 feb 2024.

Trails for the selection of Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Team were conducted at Punjabi University, Patiala. A moment of immense pleasure was witnessed as Eight of the Hockey girls of DAV College Bathinda naming Sukhveer Kaur, Mitali, Amandeep, Rozy, Kiranpreet, Amandeep, Sukhjeet and Harpreet got nominated in the University Hockey team.The trails were conducted under the under the supervision of Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Coach Ms. Meenakshi along with the Selection Committee Members. The Principal of the College Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the Hockey Girls for their outstanding performance and wish them luck for the future endeavours. He praised the efforts of Hockey Coach Sh. Rajwant Singh for his remarkable instructions to the Hockey Girls. Ms. Dakshi of DAV College Bathinda participated in North Zone Women Inter University Cricket Tournament at Una, Himachal Pradesh

A student of DAV College, Bathinda, Ms. Dakshi from MA History took part in the North Zone Women Inter University Cricket Tournament at Una, Himachal Pradesh. Dakshi was chosen to be the opener batswoman in the tournament where she performed remarkably and fetched glory for the College. Further she will be participating at All India Women Inter University Cricket Tournament.The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated Dakshi and wished her luck for the upcoming tournament. Three Hockey Boys of DAV College, Bathinda are selected for taking part in a Hockey Camp organised at Punjabi University Patiala. Boys named Chanis, Jaskaran and Prince will be attending the Camp from November 20, 2023 to December 01, 2023.The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the dedicated players on receiving an invitation for the camp. The Hockey Girls of DAV College, Bathinda earned Gold in a Hockey Match played against Patiala and won by 4-0 goals in the Match held at Jalandhar under the banner Kheda Wattan Punjab Diya.The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the entire team which includes Harman Kaur, Rozi Bharti, Rajinder Kaur, Kirandeep, Kiranpreet, Prabhjot, Dharma, Navjot, Sukhdeep and Sukhjeet. The League Matches of Two Days Inter College Women Kabbadi Tournament, Punjabi University Patiala were hosted by DAV College Bathinda. Four Leading Teams, Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib, Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Khalsa College, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Govt. Brijindra College, Faridkot and Govt. DAV Spartans bags the Final Match of “DAV Cricket Cup – 2023: Season

The final match of DAV Cricket Cup 2023 – Season 2, organized by the Department of Physical Education of DAV College, Bathinda, witnessed a packed stadium and great enthusiasm among the cricket fans. DAV Spartans scored 163/5 and DAV Hunters scored 159/8. Rohan took excellent catches and Navdeep Singh bowled excellently.This match was played between DAV Hunters and DAV Spartans. DAV Spartans won the toss and decided to bowl first. DAV Hunters scored 159 runs losing 8 wickets in 16 overs. Shahid Khan scored 46 runs. Navdeep Singh of DAV Spartans took 3 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. Happy Singh scored 41 runs. DAV Spartans performed brilliantly and won in 14 overs. DAV College Bathinda wins Semi Final Match of Inter College Cricket Tournament, Punjabi University,Patiala

Once Again, the cricket players of DAV College, Bathinda grabbed the attention of the spectators with their sensational win against Government College, Ropar in the Inter College Cricket Tournament organised by Punjabi University Patiala at Mata Guzri College, Fatehgarh Sahib.After winning the toss, DAV elected to bowl first. The Cricket team of the Government College, Ropar set a goal of 129 scores. Manish, being an economical bowler, gave just 13 runs by taking two wickets in four overs. Delove Goyal, Navdeep and Jashan grabbed one wicket each.In just 16.2 overs, DAV Bathinda chased the set target without losing any wickets. Sehaj Dhawan stole the show by scoring a century (107) in only 67 balls while batting with Jashanpreet who scored 23 runs, unbeaten. Sehaj Dhawan, Manish Sheoran, Jashanpreet Singh and Delove Goyal were declared the best performers of the match. Semi Final Matches of “DAV Cricket Cup” Organised at DAV College Bathinda

The first semi final match of the DAV Cricket Cup 2023-Season II, organized by Physical Education Department of DAV College Bathinda, witnessed a jam-packed stadium and much exhilaration amongst the cricket fans.The first Semi Final Match was played between DAV Royals and DAV Hunters. DAV Royals scored 105 runs in 16 overs, which were chased by DAV Hunters with six wickets intact. Shahid Khan of DAV Hunters was declared the “Man of the Match”.The Second Semi Final Match was set between DAV Warriors and DAV Spartans. DAV Spartans performed remakably and set a goal of 105 runs for DAV Warriors who lost the match with a narrow margin of only 8 runs. DAV Spartans recorded a magnificent win in this sensational match. Harpreet Singh was awarded the “Man of the Match”. Navdeep Singh was awarded the most economical bowler of the Match.Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma stated that the idea behind organising DAV Cricket Cup 2023 (Season II) is to promote sports and instill the gesture of discipline, commitment and team ethics amongst the students. DAV College, Bathinda Joins an International Hockey Camp in NetherlandsHockey Girl, Ms. Sukhveer Kaur of DAV College, Bathinda is being selected by the National Centre of Excellence (NCDE), Sports Authority of India to attend a Hockey Camp at Netherlands from November 15, 2023 to November 24, 2023.The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated HoD Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh Sidhu, Hockey Coach Rajwant Singh and applauded their untiring efforts in channeling the potential of all the players and athletes in the required direction. DAV Cricket Cup : Season 2 Begins With Victory of DAV Warriors On October 18, 2023.

The department of Physical Education, DAV College, Bathinda, inaugurates its annual, DAV Cricket Cup with 8 participating teams, naming DAV Chargers, DAV Warriors, DAV Spartans, DAV Panthers, DAV Phoenix, DAV Titans, DAV Hunters and DAV Royals in the Cricket Ground of the College. The tournament will include a total of 7 Knock out Cosco ball Matches of 16 overs each. The event began in the presence of the Chief Guest, Sh. Jaideep Singh, Owner, Punjab Solar Power and Dr. K.K. Nohria, Senior Member, Local Advisory Committee.The match was played between DAV warriors and DAV Chargers. DAV Warriors recorded the first win by scoring 207 runs in 16 overs whereas the players DAV Charger got all out at 52 runs. Jashan Sindhu was awarded the Man of the Match. Shri Ajay Walia well executed the role of an Umpire. The Principal of the College applauded the efforts of Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh Sidhu and College Cricket Coach Shri Rajeev Mohanty. DAV College Bathinda wins Punjabi University Patiala Zonal Cricket Tournament for the third time.

The Cricket players of DAV College Bathinda adds another feather to its crown by winning Punjabi University Patiala, Zonal Cricket Tournament organised in the well maintained ground of DAV College, Bathinda. Total of 15 teams from various colleges participated in the tournament of knockout cricket matches. Semi finals matches were played between top 4 teams. The first semi final match was played between the teams of host college ,DAV Bathinda and Shahed Udham Singh College, Mehal kalan,Sunam in which DAV College, Bathinda reserved its place in the final match by seven wickets. The second semi final match was played in between Baba Farid College, Deon and Ranbir College, Sangrur in which the players of Baba Farid College knocked out Ranbir College and recorded their win without losing any wickets.The final match was played between DAV College, Bathinda and Baba Farid College, Deon which witnessed a huge crowd of excited spectators. The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Principal, Prof.Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar, Dr. Satish Grover, Superintendents Mr. Baldev Krishan Sharma and Mr. Rajinder Kumar, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education, Prof. Nirmal, Mr. Arun Wadhwan, Secretary, Bathinda District Cricket Association, Sukhvir Singh, Food Corporation of India,Kabbadi Coach, Sh. The team of DAV College, Bathinda scored 116 runs in a total of 15 overs. While chasing the target, the team of Baba Farid College collapsed in 14 overs at the score of 77. DAV College, Bathinda marked its another big historical win. Mr. Navdeep was declared the Man of the Match. During the Prize Distribution, Dr. Kuldeep Gill, Senior Leader, AAP and Sh. Surinder Sharma awarded the prizes to the victorious.The Principal of the College, Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma, appreciated the efforts of the people behind the victory; Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal and the cricket coach Mr. Rajeev Mohanty for their resolute and stalwart efforts. Prof. Kuldeep mentioned about the remarkable officiating role played by the Umpires Mr. Ajay Walia, Mr. Pardeep Singh and Mr. Vivek Singh. Not only the parents of the players but also the Cricket Lovers of the Town; Manish Maheshwari, Rajiv Insa, Kamal Thakur, Makhan Singh cheered well for the players. Dr. Pawan Kumar, Prof. Atul Singla, Prof. Munish Kumar, Prof. Ranjeet Singh, and Prof. Ramil Gupta encouraged the players throughout the tournament.

DAV College, Bathinda hosts Punjabi University Patiala, Zonal level Inter College Cricket Tournament

The Physical Education Department of DAV College, Bathinda is hosting Punjabi University, Patiala Zonal Level Inter College Cricket Tournament from October 6, 2023 to October 10, 2023. The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma extolled the efforts of Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Physical Education, Sh. Madan Lal, Prof. Nirmal and Sh. Rajeev Mohanty for their leading steps in arranging for this tournament in the Cricket Ground of DAV, Bathinda. The guests of honour Mr. Arun Wadhawan, General Secretary, Bathinda District Cricket Association, Mr. Sukhvir Singh Sidhu, Food Corporation of Inida, Mr. Aman Singla, Buisness Man were warmly received. The role of Umpires was meticulously administrated by Mr. Pardeep and Mr. Ajay Walia.

Three matches were played on the initial day of the tournament. Knockout match was played in between University College Sardoolgarh and Modern College, Binkala. In a total of 15 overs, 156 runs were scored by University College which were chased by Modern College in just 13 overs and with only three wickets down.

Second match was played in between Nehru Memorial College, Mansa and Baba Farid Education College, Deon. 112 runs were scored by the team of Baba Farid College in 15 overs which were exceptionally chased by Baba Farid College, having lost just 6 wickets.

Third match was played in between Akal College Mastuana Sahib and S.U.S College, Sunam in which S.U.S College team scored 115 runs while Akal College lost the battle in chasing and could only score 77 runs.

The audience was keyed up and cheered much for the players. Much exhilaration was observed for the Day II of the tournament.

DAV College, Bathinda hosts, District Level Girls’ Cricket Tournament under ‘Khedo Panjab Wdho Punjab’. (24 Sep., 2023)

DAV College, Bathinda gets the opportunity of, setting for the District Level Girls’ Cricket Tournament under the banner of ‘Khedo Punjab, Wdho Punjab’. The Principal of the College extended a warn welcome to DEO (SE) Sh. Shivpal Goyal, Dy. DEO (SE) Sh. Iqbal Singh Butter, DSC Sh. Jasveer Singh Gill, Nodal Officer Principal Sh. Karamjit Singh Kot Bakhtu, Convener Sh. Ravinder Singh GSSS Bhucho Mandi, Co-convener Sh. Jaswinder Singh. All the enthusiastic girls players were keyed up on receiving this platform for showcasing their exceptional skills in Cricket.

Semi Final and Final matches were played among various Zones at District level. The Celebrated teams of Bathinda Zone One, Bathinda Zone Two and Talwandi Sabo Zone Three played at their best and gets hold of much cheers from the audience.

The Principal of the College graced the event, while wishing the players, the best of their luck and encouraged them to participate enthusiastically in the sports of all kind. He acknowledged the challenging efforts of all the girls in coming out of the bars to the grounds. He also expressed his gratitude towards the District Administration for giving the college, an opportunity of organizing this tournament. The efforts made by Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head of the Physical Education Department and Prof. Nirmal Singh were applauded for making this event possible in the ground of DAV, Bathinda. Under 17 Girls’ Cricket Matches Zone One Bathinda got the first position, Zone Two Bathinda received the second position and Zone Three Talwandi bagged the third position One, Bathinda got the first position, Zone Two Bathinda received the second position and Zone Three Talwandi secured the third position whereas Under 19 Zone One Bathinda got the first position, Zone Three Talwandi Sabo received the second position and Zone Three Bathinda bagged the third position.

DAV College, Bathinda hosts, ‘Khedo Panjab Wdho Punjab’, at District level

The playground of DAV College, Bathinda was seen adorned with the presence of the players of various games. Boys and Girls Cricket Matches and Kabaddi Matches in National as well as Circle Style are going to be organised in this Two Days Tournament.

On the first day of the tournament Cricket and Kabadi Matches were played among various Zones at District level. Zone 1 brings home the beacon of the first position in the Cricket Match, Zone 2 bagging the second and Zone 3, the third. The students played their best part in their respective games and were much excited for the Day Two.

The Principal of the College graced the inaugural event, while wishing the players, the best of their luck and encouraged them to participate enthusiastically in the sports of all kind. He expressed his gratitude towards the District Administration for giving us the opportunity of organizing this event in the college. Aman Thakur of DAV College Bathinda Wins Gold in Hockey in Khelo India Games(06 june 2023)

DAV College Bathinda felt elated at the wonderful performance of Aman Thakur, member of Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Team, in Khelo India University Games organized at Lucknow. The team beat Guru Nank Dev University, Amritsar and won a gold.

Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated Aman Thakur and showered blessings on him. He stated that success is a result of consistent efforts and rigorous training. He further added that it fills him with immense pleasure to witness the students playing with sheer determination and fetching laurels to the institution. He also appreciated the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh and coach Sh. Rajwant Singh.

DAV College Bathinda Hockey Girls Win Bronze in Khelo India University Games at Lucknow(02 june 2023)

It was a proud moment for DAV College Bathinda girls to be included in Punjabi University Patiala Hockey team and win a bronze medal in Khelo India University Games organized at Lucknow. Four Girls, namely, Kirandeep Kaur, Rozy Bharti, Mittali and Arjinder Kaur (as the keeper) have been included in the Punjabi University Patiala Hockey team. The team beat University of Mysore and fetched the bronze.

Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the girl players on their spectacular performance in Khelo India Games and winning acclaim. He stated that just as Khelo India University Games are organized to promote sports at grass root level, likewise DAV College always motivates girl students and imparts them with the best training and guidance to recognize and hone their talent. Consequently the girls have fetched laurels to their team and their Alma Mater. He commended the efforts of the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh and coach Sh. Rajwant Singh.

DAV CRICKET CUP – 2023  (29th March 2023 to 18th April 2023)

DAV Royals Wins the DAV Cricket Cup -2023 Organised by Physical Education Department. The most awaited final nail biting match of “DAV Cricket Cup”, organized by DAV College Bathinda, was played between DAV Royals and DAV Spartans. The grand event witnessed the audience stands packed to its full capacity and excitement pervading every heart.A rush of adrenalin could be felt amongst the players and the spectators on the D-Day of the event. Shri Surinder Mohan Garg, President, M.H.R. Schools was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session.

Dr. Rajeev Kr. Sharma expressed immense gratitude to the Kabbadi coach Prof. Madan Lal, Cricket Coach Rajeev Mohanty and Assistant Coach Mr. Ajay Walia for training the students and supervising the preparations of the Cricket Cup 2023. He applauded the efforts of the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and Prof. Nirmal Singh for their assiduousness in mentoring the students and successfully organizing this tournament. He congratulated all the team incharges and the students for participating in DAV Cricket Cup with utmost passion and dedication. He showered praises on DAV Royals team incharge Prof. Roop Singh, DAV Spartans team incharge Prof. Ramil and the players for immersing themselves in scrupulous practice sessions and unfolding spellbound innings. He stated that the journey or the winning moment has only been made possible because of the perseverance and dedicated efforts of the team incharges and the players.

The Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh congratulated the teams and thanked them for their cooperation. He stated that it has been the endeavour of the Department and the College to provide World Class Sports facilities. Therefore, the College would take the Cricket Cup at a higher pedestal and cater to a wider public. He further added that the college is also venturing out in the direction of other sports like, basketball and badminton and very soon players of these games too would exhibit their mettle.

Seven Days “Self Defense Camp” For Girls (18th March 2023 to 25th March 2023)

DAV College Bathinda Organizes Seven Days “Self Defense Camp” For Girls The Department of Physical Education, DAV College Bathinda organized seven days “Self Defense” camp for girls from March 18-25, 2023. As many as 36 girls participated in the camp and learnt many techniques to defend themselves during times of crisis. Training was provided by the Karate and Self Defense coach Mr. Parmod Bhandari. The camp was organized to enhance the self-confidence of the girls and make them self-reliant. Girl students were trained in the simple ways of self defence and informed about how to gear themselves up for unfavorable situations and harassing situations.

Organized National Style Kabbadi Tournament (3rd March 2023)

DAV College Bathinda organized a one-day Kabbadi tournament in memory of the former alumnus of the college and renowned Kabbadi player Late Sh. Kuldeep Singh Jatt. This National Style Kabbadi tournament took place amongst the top 8 teams in the 65 kg category.

The tournament was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma. Vice Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Staff Secretary and Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Nirmal Singh, faculty members of various departments and former alumni and Kabbadi players Pardeep Garewal and Iqbal Singh also graced the occasion with their benign presence.

The tournament witnessed a tough fight between the various sturdy Kabbadi teams from the surrounding villages. The enthusiasm of the young robust players exhilarated the audience and added verve to the atmosphere. Dr. K.K.Nohria was the esteemed Chief Guest at the valedictory session. Other distinguished guests present were Sh. Jaswant Singh Saran, Sh. Naginder Singh Sidhu. Sh. Harpreet Singh Batra (India Kabbadi coach), Sh.Gulzari Moonak, Sh.Yadwinder Singh Yadu, Sh.Charanjit Singh Channa, Sh. Mintu, Sh. Babbu, Sh. Ghaint, Sh. Om Parkash Kaka, Sh. Varesh Gupta, Sh. Baljeet Singh Balli, Sh. Jaswinder, Sh. Dharminder, Sh. Jaspal Singh and Smt Chinder Kaur. The final match was played between the teams of Fazilka and Pacca Kalan. Pacca Kalan won the final match by 23-21 points. The winner team received a cash prize of Rs. 11000 and the runners up received Rs. 7100.

Vice –Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala Inaugurates Cricket Pitch (1st March 2023)

It was an occasion of great honor and privilege for DAV College Bathinda as the Honorable Vice –Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala Prof. Arvind inaugurated the Cricket Pitch at the college campus. The pitch was inaugurated in the presence of the dignitaries Prof. Ajita, Director Sports, Punjabi University Patiala, Mr. Avtar Singh, Coach, Punjabi University Patiala and Dr. K.K. Nohria, Senior Member Local Committee.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with sacred chanting of the gayatri mantra by the students, namely, Krishna (PGDCA), Tisha (B.A.I) and Sonia (B.A. I).

Prof. Arvind congratulated the college administration, Department of Physical Education, staff and students of the college on this momentous occasion. He expressed happiness at the state-of-the-art infrastructure being provided by the college for the sports lovers and cricket enthusiasts. He further stated that it is a matter of great pride for the state of Punjab that DAV College Bathinda is always on a forefront nurturing great players who have earned a significant position both at the national and the international level.

A formal Vote of Thanks was extended by Prof. Kuldeep Singh. He dwelt upon the various accomplishments of the students at the national and international level. He also elaborated about the infrastructural strides made by the college, like, 400 mt. Running track, Basketball court, Volleyball ground and the forthcoming ventures to be initiated like Badminton court and Badminton Academy (Girls) for the physical and mental fitness of the students.

Vice –Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala, Inaugurates Circle Style Inter College Kabbadi Tournament ( 1st March 2023)

DAV College Bathinda feels extremely privileged and honoured to host the Circle Style Inter College Kabbadi Tournament, being organized by Punjabi University Patiala from March 1 to 2, 2023. At the inaugural ceremony, a warm welcome was accorded to the esteemed Chief guest Prof. Arvind, Vice –Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala. Other distinguished guests present on the occasion were Prof. Ajita, Director Sports, Punjabi University Patiala and Mr. Avtar Singh, Coach, Punjabi University Patiala. Also present on the occasion was Senior Member Local Committee Dr. K.K.Nohria. The esteemed guests were extended a floral welcome by the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover and Staff Secretary& Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and the HoDs of all the departments. The tournament commenced with sacred chanting of the gayatri mantra.

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma thanked the Vice- Chancellor Prof. Arvind for giving this opportunity to DAV College, Bathinda to host the tournament. He also thanked the honourable guest for sparing time off his busy schedule to be present at the inaugural ceremony. He also thanked and applauded Kabbadi coach Prof. Madan Lal for his tireless efforts.

 Annual Athletic Meet – 2023 ( 4th February 2023)

On the occasion of 200th birth anniversary of the Arya Samaj founder Swami Dayanand Saraswati, DAV College Bathinda organized the Annual Athletic Meet on its campus on February 24, 2023. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of students, thus, resonating the dictum of “A healthy mind in a healthy body”. The chief guest at the inaugural ceremony was Sh. Sandeep Gupta, Superintendent Engineer, Municipal Council, Bathinda. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh. Sandeep Gupta and the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma. The programme commenced with the sacred chanting of gayatri mantra and paying tribute to Swami Dayanand Saraswati. It was followed by DAV anthem and releasing the balloons.

The Chief Guests at the valedictory ceremony were, the renowned kabaddi player and MLA S. Gurlal Ghanaur and Chairman District Planning Board, Sh. Amritlal Aggarwal. S. Gurlal Ghanaur congratulated the college for carving a niche in the educational fraternity. Being a part of this athletic meet gave him immense happiness and he reminisced his days spent at DAV, College, Bathinda as a student. Sh. Amritlal Aggarwal stated that sports discipline both the mind and the body and great achievements come our way when we maintain our physical and mental well-being and devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the task in hand. The students exhibited their mettle and true sportsmanship spirit in various events for boys and girls like 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 5000m, long jump, 4×100 relay race, etc. Various fun games like Sack Race, Tug of War, Spoon Lemon Race, Three Legged Race and many more witnessed both the students and faculty taking part wholeheartedly. The winners were awarded during the valedictory ceremony. In the sports category Munish (BA-III) and in the non-sports category Sajanpreet Singh (BA-II) were declared as the best athlete male. In the sports category Harman Kaur (BA-II) and in the non-sports category Sejal (BA-I) were declared as the best athlete females. Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Physical Education, extended the formal vote of thanks. The stage was conducted meticulously by Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur, Dr. Paramjeet Kaur, Prof. Nirmal Singh and Prof. Manpreet Punia.

DAV College Bathinda hosted the Punjabi University Patiala Inter College Hockey Tournament (4th November 2022)

DAV College Bathinda hosted the Punjabi University Patiala Inter College Hockey Tournament, from November 4 to 6, 2022. The tournament was organized in the Astroturf stadium, Sports Authority of Punjab, Bathinda. Four league matches were played on the final day of the tournament. In the opening Men’s matches, Bela College, Rupnagar defeated Malwa College by 5-0. In the second match, girls of Khalsa College, Patiala defeated the team of Guru Teg Bahadur College, Anandpur Sahib by 15-0. DAV College, Bathinda defeated the Physical College, Mastuana by 1-0 in the third match. The fourth match witnessed the Men’s team of DAV College, Bathinda defeating the team of Khalsa College, Patiala by 7-2 goals. The first position in the Men’s tournament was bagged by Bela College, Rupnagar; second was attained by DAV College, Bathinda and the third went to Khalsa College, Patiala. In the Women category the first position was bagged by Khalsa College, Patiala, second by DAV College Bathinda and the third position was achieved by Physical College, Mastuana.

On the first day, DAV College Bathinda Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma inaugurated this Hockey tournament and on the last day Dr. Surjit Singh, Principal Govt. Rajindra College distributed the prizes to the winning teams. Retd. Prof. Madan Lal was felicitated during the closing ceremony. Hockey Coach Rajwant Singh was also felicitated by DAV College, Bathinda. Ms. Meenakshi, Hockey Coach, Punjabi University, Patiala was the observer during the tournament. Dr. Deepak Chopra, Principal Govt. Barjindra College alongwith Ms. Meenakshi selected the Punjabi University team. Coaches Sukhdeep Kaur, Manpreet Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Randheer Singh, Peter and Lovejeet Singh carried out their official duties meticulously.

DAV College Bathinda hosted and won Punjabi University Inter College Zonal Cricket Tournament ( 20th  to 24th September 2022)

DAV College Bathinda felt elated and honoured to host Punjabi University’s Inter College Zonal Cricket Tournament, commencing on September 22, 2022. A total of 9 teams participated in the tournament. The teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and gave their best performance.

In the semi-final match Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda won the match by defeating Guru Nanak College, Budlada . The final match was played between the teams of Government Rajindra College, Bathinda and DAV College Bathinda on 28.09.2022. DAV College Bathinda gained a sweeping victory by scoring 140 runs in 20 overs. The opponents were bundled out for a mere 80 runs in 20 overs.

Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma on this momentous occasion, congratulated Prof. Kuldeep Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education), Prof. Nirmal Singh (Department of Physical Education), Prof. Vikas Katia (Incharge Cricket Team) and Mr. Rajeev Kumar Mohanty (Cricket Team Coach). He congratulated the runners up team for its exemplary performance and wished them success in their future endeavours. He applauded the winning team for exhibiting their tenaciousness, discipline and sportsmanship, thus traversing their way to success.

International Yoga Day Celebrated ( 20th June 2022 )

Under the banner of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club of DAV College Bathinda, the departments of NSS, Student Welfare and Physical Education, celebrated International Yoga Day, in its true spirit and a befitting manner. The programme was organized in coordination with the Yoga Seva Samiti under the guidance of Yoga Guru Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal.

The event witnessed the overwhelming participation of students and faculty. The assembled gathering practiced yoga asanas which radiated their whole being with a fresh wave of energy and vitality.

The NSS Coordinator, Dr. Satish Grover stated that Yoga brings harmony in all walks of life and helps one to combat diseases, promote health and judiciously manage many lifestyle-related disorders.

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma acknowledged that yoga is not only about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with one’s own self. He appreciated the efforts Prof. Ravinder Singh, coordinator of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, and Dr. Satish Grover, Prof. Kuldeep Singh and Dr. Surinder Singla, coordinators of Student Welfare, NSS and Physical Education.

Organized “Self Defence Camp” for Girls ( March 26th, 2022)

The Physical Education Department of DAV College Bathinda organized a one day camp on “Self Defence” for girls. As many as 35 girls participated in the camp and learnt many techniques to defend themselves during times of crisis.The camp was organised to enhance the self-confidence of the girls and make them self-reliant. The girl students were trained in the simple ways of self-defense and informed about how to gear themselves up for unfavourable situations and harassing situations.

The Head, Department of Physical Education stated that the safety of the girl child should be given maximum priority and hence the initiative of organizing this workshop has been taken.

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma expressed immense gratification to witness the girls learns the technique of self defence dexterously. He stated that this camp would infuse amongst them a sense of security and instill confidence. He believed that this camp would empower the girls and help them tackle unforeseen circumstances and further added that in future a similar camp of 4-5 days would be organized for the students. Inauguration of Basketball Court ( March 26th, 2022 )

It was an occasion of great exhilaration for DAV College Bathinda to inaugurate the Basketball Court in the college premises. The college felt honoured to extend warm welcome to Principal H. R. Gandhar (Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee) on this auspicious occasion. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. K.K. Nohria (Senior Member, Local Committee), Smt. Vimal Garg (Member, Local Committee), Chaudhary Partap Singh (Member, Local Committee) and Ms. Maninderjit Kaur (Officiating Principal, MMDAV College, Gidderbaha). The esteemed guests were accorded a floral welcome by the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma and Prof. Kuldeep Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education).

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma reiterated his belief that the construction of the basketball court would facilitate the youth in embracing this sport seriously and teach them valuable lessons in fitness regimen. He expressed gratitude to the honourable Chief Guest Sh. H.R. Gandhar for gracing the occasion with his presence and rendering support in all the spheres, be it academics, sports or extra-curricular activities. He further added that the presence of all the esteemed guests would undoubtedly imbue the students and the faculty with a zeal to work dedicatedly. He also thanked the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and other members of the department namely, Prof. Nirmal Singh, Prof. Razia and coach Prof. Madan Lal for their tireless efforts in providing the students with the best of the sports facilities on the campus.

Annual Athletic Meet-2022 ( March 26th, 2022)

To promote sports and improve the well being of the students, DAV College Bathinda organized the Annual Athletic Meet on its campus on March 26, 2022.

The chief guest at the inaugural ceremony was S. Jagroop Singh Gill, MLA Bathinda (Urban). The chief guest for the valedictory function was Sh. Manpreet Singh Manna (Major Dhyan Chand Awardee). The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest S. Jagroop Singh Gill and Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma.

The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma acknowledged the valuable time spared by the distinguished guests to be a part of this sports event. He appreciated S. Jagroop Singh for rendering valuable services and dedicating himself to the welfare of the people. Applauding the contribution of Sh. Manpreet Singh Manna, he stated that sports play an integral part in every student’s life. It inculcates the principles of integrity, dedication and discipline which are the requisites of leading a righteous life. Dr. Rajeev stated that due to pandemic, the Annual Athletic Meet is being organized after two years and it gives him immense pleasure to witness the zeal and zest of students. He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of Prof. Kuldeep Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education) and Prof. Nirmal Singh in organizing this event.

The students exhibited their mettle and true sportsmanship spirit in various events for boys and girls like 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, long jump, 4×100 relay race, etc. Various fun games like Sack Race, Tug of War, Spoon Lemon Race, Three Legged Race and many more witnessed both the students and faculty taking part wholeheartedly. The winners were awarded during the valedictory ceremony.

Jaspreet Singh (BA-III) was adjudged as the best athlete male and Harman Kaur (BA-I) as the best athlete female.

Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Physical Education, extended the formal vote of thanks. The stage was conducted meticulously by Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur and Dr. Paramjeet Kaur.

 Physical Education department invited Finance Minister S. Manpreet S. Badal ( 17th October 2021)

It was a moment of great honour for DAV College Bathinda to be graced by the presence of S. Manpreet Singh Badal, Honourable Minister for Finance, Govt. of Punjab. The Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Prof. Kuldeep Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education) and Dr. Satish Grover (Head, Department of English) accorded a warm and a floral welcome to the honorable guest.

  1. Manpreet Singh Badal handed over a cheque of Rs. 3 Lakhs for the construction of the basketball court. He had made a promise to the college that he would provide all possible help to the college for the promotion of sports. Keeping his promise he gave the cheque to the Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg and the Head, Department of Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh.

Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg thanked S. Manpreet Singh Badal profusely for constantly working towards the upliftment of the youth, be it academics, sports or extra-curricular activities.

 Tree Plantation Drive and Inauguration of Cricket Academy ( 30th September 2021)

It was a moment of great honour for DAV College Bathinda to extend welcome to the Mayor, Bathinda Smt. Raman Goyal and Sh. Sandeep Goyal on the occasion of the tree plantation drive and the inauguration of Cricket Academy. The College Principal Sh. Parveen Kumar Garg and the entire staff accorded a floral welcome to the honourable guests. Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur thanked the distinguished guests for sparing time off their busy schedule.

The Cricket Academy at DAV College is a training ground for many aspiring cricketers. Under the assiduous guidance of the trained coach, around 100 young budding cricketers are being trained for competing in national and international cricket. This was followed by tree plantation by the honorable guests, principal and the college staff . On this occasion Sh. Sandeep Goyal stated that we can contribute our bit towards the environment by planting trees.

 Sh Rajan Garg laid foundation Stone of Basketball Court ( 9th September 2021)

It was a matter of extreme honour and privilege for DAV College Bathinda to be graced by the benign presence of Sh. Rajan Garg, Chairman, District Planning Board, Bathinda on the auspicious occasion of the stone laying ceremony of basketball court in the college campus. The honourable Chairman was accorded a floral welcome by the Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Staff Secretary and HoD Physical Education Prof. Kuldeep Singh and the staff members.

The Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg expressed gratitude to the honourable Chief Guest for gracing the occasion with his presence and rendering substantial support for the promotion of sports. He further stated that Sh. Rajan Garg has constantly been persevering for the welfare of the society at large and his presence would undoubtedly fill the students and the faculty with a zeal to work dedicatedly.

Prof. Kuldeep Singh extended the vote of thanks. He thanked the esteemed Chief Guest Sh. Rajan Garg for sparing time off his busy schedule for laying the foundation stone to kick start the construction of the basketball court. He also thanked the faculty members to make this event a success.

International Day of Yoga Celebrated Virtually ( 21st June 2021)

The Departments of NSS , Student Welfare and Physical Education of DAV College Bathinda celebrated the International Day of Yoga virtually under the programme “7 days to go for International Day of Yoga (IDY)”, in its true spirit and a befitting manner. Mr. Harsh Sharma (Masters in Yoga) made the students and the staff performs different yoga asanas which made every soul feel the fresh wave of energy and vigor radiates his whole being. Around 60 NSS volunteers and 20 faculty members participated with utmost zeal and vigour. Terming Yoga as “The union of the soul with God”, Mr. Harsh addressed the gathering on the issue of health and well-being and talked about the wider dissemination of information about the benefits of practicing Yoga all across the globe.

The Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg welcomed the yoga guru, Mr. Harsh Sharma. Prof. Parveen Garg acknowledged that yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with one’s own self. The Vote of Thanks was extended by NSS Convener Prof. Satish Grover

DAV College Bathinda

  • Sandeep Singh participated in the 65th men’s free style wrestling championship held at Noida, and won the Gold medal.
  • Gurjot Arora participated in the National Powerlifting Championship held at Gazipur from March 17, 2021 to March 21, 2021 and won the Gold medal.
  • Jotika Kalsi of participated in the All India University Games (Hockey), at Chennai and won the Silver medal.
  • Baljeet Kaur of this college is selected in the Junior Women’s Hockey team.

             

Sports (2019-20)

DAV College Bathinda Wins Four Gold Medals in Inter College Wrestling Championship of Punjabi University Patiala and Clinches Overall Second Position in the Inter College Wrestling Championship held at Patel Memorial National College, Rajpura, organised by Punjabi University Patiala from October 1 to 3, 2019.  The gold medals have been won by Vikas Kumar in Greco Roman 57 kg weight, Kuldeep in 57 kg freestyle, Virender in 74 kg freestyle and Sandeep in 85 kg freestyle. In the medal tally, the college stood second in Punjabi University Patiala.

  • It was an exhilarating day for DAV College Bathinda, when Circle Style Inter College Kabbadi Tournament, being organized by Punjabi University Patiala was hosted by the college. The final boys kabbadi match was won by DAV College Bathinda against Akal Physical College Mastuana

Her determination and perseverance made her selection among the top 24 Indian players.

  • Punjabi University Patiala Inter College Chess Championship

DAV College Bathinda won overall third position in the boys and girls category respectively. This tournament was hosted by DAV College, Bathinda.

  • Gold and Silver in Inter College Wrestling Tournament

Sandeep Singh and Varinder Singh of BA I won gold medals in 79 kg and 70 kg respectively and Sukhpreet (BA I) won a silver in 63 kg in Inter College Wrestling Tournament organised at Guru Gobind Singh College, Morinda. To add more feathers to their victory, these students were selected for Punjabi University team for Inter University Tournament, wherein the students secured third position.

Nilesh (B.A. II) fetched laurels to the college by winning a Gold in 5th Indo-Nepal Karate Championship 2018 organized by Shitoryu Karate Association Nepal held at TT Academy /Lainchaur Kathmandu.

Nilesh Kumar bagged two bronze medals in Bhutan International Open Karate Championship held at the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu. Players from Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mayanmar, Burma took part in this international tournament.

  • Proud Recipient of Bharat Kumar Award

Sandeep Singh cleared six rounds of the 33rd Bharat Kesari Wrestling Competition, held at Gurudhar Mannahana, Hoshiarpur and was conferred with the Bharat Kumar Award. This competition was organised in association with Punjab Wrestling Association and witnessed the participation of International Wrestling Champions.

Hockey tournament (women)

Punjabi University Inter-College Hockey tournament (women) is being organized by DAV College, Bathinda in local hockey AstroTurf Bathinda from 07th January to 09th January, 2016. The tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Ram Singh Virk, General Secretary, Punjab Youth Congress. The guests on the occasion were Sh. Beant Singh Randhawa, Municipal Councilor, ward no. 19, Sh. Dev Raj Pakka, Ex. General Secretary, Punjab Congress Committee (Rural) and Sh. Hardeep Singh Tony (Advocate) President, Bathinda Sports Club. The representatives of the Punjabi University Patiala, retired Zonal Sports Officer Bathinda and Ms. Meenakshi, Hockey Coach, Punjabi University, Patiala were also present. The organizers of the event, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal, Sh. Varesh Gupta,Vice Principal, DAV College Bathinda and Sh. P.D. Goyal, Chairman, Local Committee of the College blessed the participants of the tournament. The event was anchored by Prof. Manpreet Kaur. Prof. Mahesh Inder Singh welcomed the teams. Principal, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma thanked the participants, Team Managers, Coaches and the audience. He earnestly wished that the Players will scale new heights in the field of sports. The first match of the tournament was played between DAV College, Bathinda and S.D. College, Barnala. DAV College, Bathinda won the match by a huge margin of 21-0. The Chief Guest Sh. Ram Singh Virk donated Rs. 11,000/- to DAV College, Bathinda for the tournament and Sh. Beant Singh Randhawa (M.C.) honoured the winning team with the prize money of Rs. 1,100/-.and second winner team was given Rs. 500/- and Sh. Dev Raj Pakka awarded Rs. 500/- as blessing to remaining players.
