To provide top class sports facilities so as to mould young generation towards sports and motivate them to lead drug free life.
The department of Physical Education was established in the college in 1969 with the inception of this college. It has produced many national and international players in various games and brought laurels to the institution.

DAV College Bathinda Boys included in Punjabi University Patiala Hockey
DAV College Bathinda boys are all set to put their best foot forward on being included in the Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Team. The team is all geared up to participate in the North Zone hockey tournament starting from December 19-22, 2022 at Khalsa College, Amritsar. Four boys, namely, Harjeet Singh, Lovejeet Singh, Amar Thakur and Chanis Sharma have been included in the Punjabi University Patiala Hockey team.

It was a moment of great jubilation and pride for DAV College Bathinda to witness the college girls being included in the Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Team. The team is all geared up to participate in the North Zone hockey tournament starting from December 19-22, 2022 at Khalsa College, Amritsar. DAV College Bathinda Wins the Overall Champion Trophy in Punjabi University Patiala Hockey Tournament
DAV College Bathinda hosted the Punjabi University Patiala Inter College Hockey Tournament, from November 4 to 6, 2022. The tournament was organized in the Astroturf stadium, Sports Authority of Punjab, Bathinda. Four league matches were played on the final day of the tournament.(09.Sept.2022)
Baljeet and Kirandeep of DAV College Bathinda Win Silver in 36th National Games
It was a moment of great exhilaration for DAV College Bathinda, when Baljeet and Kirandeep won silver medals in the 36th National Games, held at Gujarat from September 29 – October 12, 2022. Baljeet and Kirandeep represented Punjab Hockey Team in these national games and gave a tough fight to the Haryana Team in the final round.(12.Oct.2022)
DAV College Bathinda Wins Punjabi University Inter College Zonal Cricket Tournament
DAV College Bathinda felt elated and honoured to host Punjabi University’s Inter College Zonal Cricket Tournament, commencing on September 22, 2022. A total of 9 teams participated in the tournament. The teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and gave their best performance.(28.Sept.2022)
DAV College Bathinda Students Baljeet Kaur and Ravinder Kaur (Members of Indian Hockey Team) Conferred With Honours
DAV College Bathinda feels elated and honoured on the students Baljeet Kaur and Ravinder Kaur, being selected for the Indian Women Hockey team. It was a momentous occasion when the hockey players were honoured by Sardar Gurdeep Singh (President, Hockey Bathinda & Retired SE, Irrigation Department) and Sardar Charanjit Singh (ASI, Former Hockey Player and Treasurer, Hockey Bathinda), who offered them a prize money of Rs. 21,000/- each.(01.Aug.2022)
DAV College Bathinda’s Student Sehaj Dhawan Qualifies For All India Inter University Cricket Tournament
DAV College Bathinda experienced a surge of exhilaration to witness Sehaj Dhawan (MA English), qualify for All India Inter University Cricket Tournament. Sehaj Dhawan, a young budding cricketer, was selected in Punjabi University Patiala Team and earned the spotlight with his outstanding performances in the tournaments that he played. - DAV College Bathinda Organises “Self Defence Camp” For Girls
The Physical Education Department of DAV College Bathinda organized a one day camp on “Self Defence” for girls. As many as 35 girls participated in the camp and learnt many techniques to defend themselves during times of crisis.
The camp was organised to enhance the self confidence of the girls and make them self reliant. The girl students were trained in the simple ways of self defense and informed about how to gear themselves up for unfavourable situations and harassing situations (11.May.2021)
- Annual Athletic Meet-2022 Organised At DAV College Bathinda
To promote sports and improve the well being of the students, DAV College Bathinda organized the Annual Athletic Meet on its campus on March 26, 2022.
DAV College Bathinda Wins Gold Medal in Inter College Kabaddi Circle Style Tournament
It is a matter of immense pride that DAV College Bathinda has become the winner of Inter College Circle Style Kabaddi (Men) Championship, held at ACPE Mastuana Sahib, from March 11- 12, 2022. DAV College won this tournament by defeating ACPE Mastuana Sahib by 40-28 points.
In the quarterfinal DAV College defeated Guru Kashi College, Talwandi Sabo. In the semifinal match the college won by defeating SD College Barnala. Paramveer was declared the best raider and Harmander the best stopper of the tournament.
- It was an exhilarating moment for DAV College Bathinda to witness its students, Dushyant, Harmandeep Singh and Arun Singh win medals in Punjabi University Inter college Boxing Championship, held at M.M. Modi College, Patiala. Dushyant won a silver in 60-64 kg weight category, Harmandeep Singh won a bronze in 69-75 kg weight category and Arun Singh won a bronze in 81-91kg weight category.

- A wave of ecstasy and excitement pervades the precincts of DAV College Bathinda when one of its student Baljeet Kaur has been selected in the 18 member Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team, who will vie for honours at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup South Africa, (20.Nov.2021)
- It was an exhilarating moment for DAV College Bathinda when the college student Sandeep Singh won the gold medal and Vikas &Sharwan won the silver medals at the All India Senior Wrestling Championship, held at Gonda (Uttar Pradesh). Sandeep Singh of Burj Rathi village won a gold medal by competing in the free style 86 kg weight category. He won a gold for the third time in a row. Vikas and Sharwan won silver medals by participating in the 60 kg and 55 kg weight category respectively. Vikas has also been selected for Commonwealth Championship to be held in South Africa.(16.Nov.2021)
- It was a moment of extreme joy and honour for DAV College Bathinda to witness the college hockey girls win third position in the Senior National Hockey Tournament by beating Maharashtra team by 2-1. Kirandeep Kaur, Jyotika, Rozy Bharti and Navjot Kaur of Dav College, Bathinda, included in the Punjab Hockey Team won a bronze medal in the National Hockey Tournament, held at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, from October 21-30, 2021.
- It was a moment of pride and honour for DAV College Bathinda to secure third position in Punjabi University Inter College Cricket Tournament, held at M.M. College Patiala.
DAV College Bathinda beat Government College Ropar by 3 wickets for the third position match. The target of 106 runs was achieved by DAV College Bathinda in 17 overs against Govt. College Ropar. Navdeep Singh, Nikit Sharma and Ranjeet Singh played exceptionally well in the match.
- It is a moment of great pride for DAV College Bathinda to win the Inter College Zonal Cricket Tournament, held at Govt. Barjindra College Faridkot.
The college traversed its way to success by defeating different colleges in the matches organized. In the first match DAV College, Bathinda defeated University College Dhilwan with a big margin. The college scored 236 runs against 51 scored by Dhilwan. In this match Sahaj Dhawan scored 122 runs not out and Khialdeep took five wickets. In the second match, the college defeated Govt. Barjindra College Faridkot. The opponents were bundled out for a mere 21 runs in six overs against a big score of 158 by DAV College.(18.Oct.2021)
- It was a moment of great honour for DAV College Bathinda to be graced by the presence of S. Manpreet Singh Badal, Honourable Minister for Finance, Govt. of Punjab. The Officiating Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Prof. Kuldeep Singh (Head, Department of Physical Education) and Dr. Satish Grover (Head, Department of English) accorded a warm and a floral welcome to the honourable guest.(17.Oct.2021)
- Sandeep Singh of DAV College Bathinda brought laurels to the college by winning a gold medal in the under 23 Senior National Wrestling Championship, held at Amethi (UP). He won this medal by fighting in the 86 kg weight category.
- Vijender Singh of DAV College Bathinda brought laurels to the college by winning a bronze medal in the 1st Senior Beach Men and Women National Wrestling Championship held at Tamil Nadu. He fought in the 80 kg weight category and stood third.(06.sept.2021)
- It was a moment of great exhilaration for DAV College Bathinda to witness Sandeep Mann, a student of the college, get selected for the upcoming World Wrestling Championship. The Championship will be held at Oslo, Norway from 2-10 November, 2021. Sandeep Singh will compete in the 86 kg weight category.(02.sept.2021)
- INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA CELEBRATED VIRTUALLY AT DAV COLLEGE BATHINDA .
The Departments of NSS , Student Welfare and Physical Education of DAV College Bathinda celebrated the International Day of Yoga virtually under the programme “7 days to go for International Day of Yoga (IDY)”, in its true spirit and a befitting manner. Mr. Harsh Sharma (Masters in Yoga) made the students and the staff perform different yoga asanas which made every soul feel the fresh wave of energy and vigor radiate his whole being.(21.june.2022)
