The Bhangra Boys of DAV College, Bathinda bagged Second Position in Inter Zonal Youth Festival, Punjabi University Patiala.

The vibrant and passionate Bhangra students of DAV College, Bathinda returned with a trophy numbered Second in Inter Zonal Youth Festival at Punjabi University, Patiala. The Competition includes as many as 12 winning teams of the Six Zones at Zonal Youth Festival. The Bhangra Group of the College made a thrilling win with the Second Prize.The Principal of the College, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma had all the words of appreciation for the Coordinator of the Youth Welfare Department, Dr. Paramjeet Kaur, the Bhangra team members and the supporting staff member Sh. Anoop Lal for their unbeatable and dedicated efforts. Honorably, the Principal congratulated the Bhangra Boys on their remarkable win and also appreciated their zealous and committed attitude.

DAV College, Bathinda remains in highlight for all the four days of Zonal Level Youth Festival, bagging First Position in Overall Dance Performances.

The versatile and proficient students of DAV College, Bathinda once more brought laurels for the College in the various competitions organised in Four Days Zonal Level Youth Festival at Bathinda College of Law.The Bhangra Group of the College made the thrilling win with the First Prize. The Sammi group also returned with the First prize. Manpreet Kaur, was awarded first for her Classical Dance Performance.In the Laggu Film category, the participants of DAV Bathinda efficiently secured 2nd position. The Installation team of the College was declared second. The actors of One Act Play were awarded Second position for their pragmatic performance. Sukhpreet Singh got Second position for his mesmerizing Folk Song.The performers of Malwai Giddha brought third rank for their zestful performance. The Giddha performers also stole the show and bagged third prize. The Participants of Indian Group Song were awarded third position for their melodious song. The team of Western Song marked another win by securing third position for their euphonious singing. Jashanpreet Singh represented College for Rangoli and was awarded third position for his sense of artistic hues. Happy was awarded third position for his cartooning skills.The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma had all the words of appreciation for the Coordinator of the Youth Welfare Department, Dr. Paramjeet Kaur. Incharges Prof. Meetu S. Wadhwa, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Prof. Amit Kumar Singla, Dr. Neetu Purohit, Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Harpreet Kaur Brar, Prof. Neha Sharma, Prof. Gurdeep Singh, Prof. Lakhvir Singh, Prof. Manpreet Kaur Punia, Prof. Balwinder Kaur and Prof. Kiran Kaur were applauded for their tireless and persistent efforts. The supporting team which included Sh. Anoop Lal, Sh. Deepak Kumar and Sh. Santosh Kumar were also thanked. He also appreciated the zealous and committed attitude of all the participants and congratulated them for their dedicated participation and win.

DAV College Bathinda Wins the Overall Champion Trophy in Punjabi University Inter College Zonal Youth Festival

DAV College Bathinda experienced great jubilation and exhilaration on witnessing the successful culmination of the gala four-day Punjabi University Inter College Zonal Youth Festival, held from October 6-9, 2022. The distinguished guests on the occasion were Dr. K.K. Nohria (Senior Member, Local Committee), Dr. Gagandeep Thappa (Incharge Youth Welfare Department, Punjabi University, Patiala), Mr. Danny (Youth Welfare Department, Punjabi University, Patiala) and Sh. Pal Singh Samaon (Folk Artist). The distinguished guests were accorded a warm welcome by the Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Vice-Principal Prof. Parveen Kumar Garg, Registrar Dr. Satish Grover, Staff Secretary Prof. Kuldeep Singh and the Youth Coordinator Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur.

As many as 48 colleges of Bathinda-Faridkot Zone participated in the youth festival. The team in-charges and students expressed immense happiness at the meticulously organized festival by the college. Their overall enthusiastic participation in various events also met with acclaim and applauds.

DAV College became the proud recipient of the Overall Champion Trophy. The Overall Fine Arts Trophy was won by Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda. University College Guddha won the Overall Folk Arts Trophy. Pandit Chetan Dev Got. College of Education, Faridkot. won the Overall Literary Trophy. The Overall TRohies of Music, Dance and Theatre were clinched by DAV College Bathinda
Stage I rocked with the rhythm of classical dance, the folk attires were brought forth by Riwayati Pehrawa Pradarshini, folk melodies in the form of Riwayati Lokgeet and the most awaited event of the day Giddha. The first prize winner in classical dance was University College, Guddha, the second prize was bagged by DAV College, Bathinda and the third prize went to Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot. The first prize in Riwayati Lok Geet was bagged by Malwa College, Bathinda, second prize by RPC Degree College, Baiman Diwana and the third prize was won by Pandit Chetan Dev Govt. College of Education, Faridkot. In Riwayati Pehrawa Pradarshini, the first prize was won by Bhai Asa Singh Girls College, Bathinda, second was bagged by Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda and the third was won by DAV College, Bathinda. In Giddha, the first prize was bagged by Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda, second was won by Baba Farid College, Bathinda and the third was won by DAV College, Bathinda. The Stage was conducted by Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Prof. Nirmal Singh and Prof. Manpreet Kaur Punia. Prof. Harjinder Singh was the timekeeper.

Stage II resounded with the divine melodies in the form of Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion) and Classical Instrumental Solo (Non Percussion). The first, second and third prizes in the former were won by Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda, Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot and DAV College Bathinda respectively. In Classical Instrumental Solo (Non Percussion), the first prize was won by Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda and the second was won by Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot. The stage was conducted by Dr. Neetu Purohit, Dr. Monika Ghulla and Dr. Samanveer Kaur. Dr. Kriti Gupta was the timekeeper.

On Stage III the performers of Kali Gayan , Vaar Gayan and Kavishri entertained the audience with their brilliant performances. The first prize in Kali Gayan was won by DAV College, Bathinda, second prize was bagged by Baba Farid College, Bathinda and the third was won by University College, Guddha. The first, second and third prize in Vaar Gayan was won by DAV College, Bathinda, Baba Farid College, Bathinda and Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot respectively. In the Kavishri category DAV College, Bathinda attained first position, second position was won by Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot and at the third position was the team of University College, Guddha.
The Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma expressed immense happiness and contentment at the successful organization and culmination of the Punjabi University Zonal Youth Festival 2022. He expressed gratitude to the cooperation rendered by Punjabi University, Patiala for the smooth functioning of this gala event and their coordinators who left no stone unturned in making this event a success. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma stated that Youth Festival provides a platform to the students, for exhibiting their talent and this platform is a ladder which provides them an opportunity to perform at national level and represent their country at international level. He in an overwhelming tone, profusely thanked Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur (Youth Coordinator) and Dr. Paramjeet Kaur for passing too many sleepless nights for putting things in order and finally making the gala event – Youth Festival -see the light of the day.

The Youth Coordinator Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur extended the formal Vote of Thanks. At the outset she expressed gratitude to the college Principal Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma for his encouragement and cooperation. She thanked the esteemed guests and judges for sparing time off their busy schedule and gracing us with their benign presence. She also thanked the college incharges and the participants for their cooperation. She felt grateful to the various committees constituted in the colleges, teaching, non teaching, multitasking staff and student volunteers for their active cooperation and participation.
